Life of Type (LOT) Buy Circuit Card Assembly (CCAs) were being damaged using a higher amperage slow blow fuse. Limited LOPB CCAs are available for GPS UE sustainment. A 1.5 AMP slow blow fuse was identified as a replacement with implementation of a depot Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) to prevent further damage to expensive CCAs. GIDEP DMSMS Notice EA-D-04-53 advised that the 1.5 AMP slow blow fuse was obsolete and enabled identification of an alternate fuse to continue implementation of the TCTO. Based on Reliability and Maintainability failure data, without the GIDEP Alert, 140 fielded CCAs would have incurred damage Beyond Economical Repair (BER).
