GIDEP Alert VV-P-04-01 advised that the vendor received notice of mis-marked product for Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) 5962-38267, which is used in GPS Receivers. This alert benefited the GPS UE Program by preventing mis-marked products from entering the depot repair system. As a result, the correct parts were provided to the depots for repair preventing equipment degrades. Using mis-marked substandard parts would have led to field failures requiring receivers to be returned to the depots for repair.
