Engineering Data

About

ENGINEERING DATA contains technical reports on research materials, quality assessment, engineering test, evaluation and qualification test, parts and materials specifications, manufacturing, design, process controls, solder-ability data and other related engineering data on parts, components, materials and processes. This data covers a wide span of topics crossing over many professional disciplines pertaining to both commercial applications and military applications generated during research, development, testing, production, procurement, and logistical operations-all phases of the acquisition life cycle. It is categorized into six categories: Engineering Reports (ER), Management Reports (MR), Test Reports (TR), Process Specifications (PS), Soldering Technology (STL), and Computer Technology Document (CTD).

Benefits

GIDEP Engineering information is intended to help GIDEP members to eliminate duplicate effort, gain more knowledge from others’ lessons learned, improve quality, and/or reduce testing which leads to a reduction in man-hours and costs during development, production, and sustainability of parts, materials, components, and equipment. Some of the most popular downloaded Engineering Data are technical reports on lead-free, tin whiskers, COTS electronics, counterfeit electronic components, review of guidance and finding on electronics, unmanned vehicles, and test reports on electronics.

Submitting Data

The wide range of Engineering Data is mainly due to the diversity of GIDEP participating members, their technical disciplines and endeavor. Submission of Engineering Data is NOT limited to GIDEP participants; in fact, GIDEP welcomes and encourages the submission from non-members. Submitting engineering documents does not require any GIDEP specific form. Electronic submission by email is most preferred, but any electronic media or hardcopy by postal mail is accepted also.
